What are the best conditions for a Bonsai tree?

My mum has got a potted bonsai tree from someone at work, but we are unsure of the best conditions to keep it in. She thinks it is a 'Twisted Fig'.

Anybody know what we should be doing?|||Remember that "Bonsai" just means 'miniature', so it's only a small version of the real thing - and THAT'S the way it needs to be kept. Look up where the real thing comes from on something like Google and then act accordingly. Most Bonsai plants are NOT indoor plants so don't be fooled on that one.|||if you are keeping it indoors

then keep it where the is a medium amount of sunlight during the day.

keep it at a temperature of under 15 degrees celsius.

and water it once a day with enough water to just soak the soil, do not over water.

trim the leaves that are overgrowing out of the bonsai's natural silhouette.

and thats about it :)|||What type of tree do you have?

Remember that some trees are better suited to being a Bonsai than others, so it's extremely important that you take your time and find a tree best suited to the conditions you will be exposing it too.
